  SUZANNE COSTELLO and STUART PIMSLER
Suzanne Costello and Stuart Pimsler met in St. Louis in 1979 and
have been working together as Artistic Co-Directors since that time.
Their company was originally established in New York City at the Parkfast
Dance Stadium, SoHo, and since 2000 has been based in the Twin Cities.
Their work has been honored with a 2002 Choreographer’s Fellowship
from The McKnight Foundation, a Two-Year Fellowship from the National
Endowment for the Arts, and a Major Fellowship and nine Individual Fellowships
from the Ohio Arts Council. They have been guest artists at colleges and
universities throughout the U.S. and have been on the faculty of the
American Dance Festival, the Harvard Summer Dance Institute, and the
Lin-Ya School for the Performing Arts, Taiwan. Currently, they are both
affiliate faculty of the Department of Theatre Arts and Dance at the University
of Minnesota. Most recently, Mr. Pimsler was named “Artist of the Year” (2004)
by CityPages and founded the SAGE Awards for Dance.

 

  BRIAN EVANS

Brian J. Evans hails from the hub of Sibley County, Gaylord, MN. He recently

graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College with a B.A. in dance. Brian began his

professional career with Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theater in 2007. Having recently moved

to the Twin Cities, he plans to find out whether or not the world produces art, or if art

produces the world! Brian would like to thank his friends and family for their support in

pushing him to follow his dreams and to follow them with passion.

 

  CADE HOLMSETH
Cade Holmseth is in his third performing season with Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theater. He

recently presented his first evening length theater/dance production at the Red Eye

Theater. He is also performing in the works of Marciano Silva dos Santos and Denise

Armstead. Cade recently completed his training in shiatsu (a Japanese bodywork) and will

soon complete his schooling for therapeutic massage.

 

KARI MOSEL

Kari Mosel received her BFA in Dance from the University of Minnesota in 2004. While

there, she performed in several works, some of which included the choreography of

Paul Taylor, Shouza Ma, Paula Mann, Shawn McConneloug, and Ming Sheng Ku. Since

graduating, Kari has had the pleasure to dance professionally for Shapiro and

Smith Dance, Time Track Productions, and apprentice for Zenon Dance. In addition to

performing, she serves as an administrative assistant for Shapiro and Smith Dance and

as an assistant stage manager for Ananya Dance Theater. This is Kari's first season with

SPDT. She feels blessed to be part of this community and looks forward to what the

future holds.

  LAURA SELLE VIRTUCIO
Laura Selle Virtucio began her movement training as an athlete in Sioux Falls,

South Dakota. She now holds a BFA in Dance from the University of Minnesota (1999).

Among her greatest accomplishments in dance, Laura counts her long partnership

as a company member with Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theater (since 1999) and Shapiro

and Smith Dance (since 2001). In addition to these two companies, Laura recently joined

Carl Flink's Black Label Movement. She is currently an affiliate faculty member in the

dance programs at the University of Minnesota and Gustavus Adolphus College in

St. Peter, MN. Laura is a recipient of a 2007 Sage Award for Performance and a

McKnight Fellowship for Dancers, administered by the Southern Theater and funded by

the McKnight Foundation.

 

  MARCIANO SILVA DOS SANTOS

A native of Brazil, Marciano Silva dos Santos first appeared on stage as the moon in

Federico Garcia Lorca's Blood Wedding. A visiting choreographer saw his performance and

asked him to train with the Afro-Brazilian dance company NegraO. Shortly thereafter,

he joined and toured throughout Brazil with NegraO and the contemporary dance company,

Cia Companhia dos Homens. Marciano has been in the United States for one year, and

since that time has had the pleasure to dance with SPDT and TU Dance.

 

  VANESSA VOSKUIL
Vanessa Voskuil is co-artistic director and education coordinator of the artistic

collaboration Live Action Set. As an independant choreographer/director, her

production, theWHITEsolos, received a Minnesota 2006 Sage award for Outstanding

Design. Vanessa has been a company member with Stuart Pimsler Dance

& Theater since 2001 and has worked previously with site-specific performance

company Skewed Visions and Catalyst Dances. Vanessa pursued theater arts with

a directing emphasis at Moorhead State University before transferring to the

University of Minnesota to finish with a BFA in Dance and BA in Theater.

 

  ROXANE WALLACE
Roxane Wallace is a native of California and holds a BA in Philosophy and a minor in

Ethnic Studies from the University of California at Berkeley. She is a five-year member

of Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theater and is active in the arts as a performer, teacher,

dancer, and choreographer. She was named "Best Dancer" by CityPages in 2004 and

most recently was a recipient of a 2007 Sage Award for Outstanding Performer in Dance.

Roxane is a teaching artist for the Vocal Essence "Witness" Program and the Children's

Theater Company, a dance instructor at various studios in and around the Twin Cities,

and she conducts workshops and residencies in the school system. Constantly engaged

in her field, Roxane has worked with choreographers and directors of regional and

international acclaim. Her range and experience include Modern, West African, Jazz,

Hip-Hop, and Improvisation.
