Terra Incognita, conceived and directed by Artistic Co-Director Suzanne Costello, has toured nationally since its premiere in March, 2018. The work blends movement, film, and voice to explore the emotional underpinnings of nature’s seasons as metaphors for the stages of life. V. Paul Virtucio’s film design and Merritt Rodriguez’s scenic elements, alongside an intergenerational chorus of community members and the SPDT Company Artists, intone the passage of time, elaborating on a movement landscape that travels from fiercely physical to serene and sublime. Terra Incognita premiered at the Glaize Studio Theatre at Shenandoah University, with the support of an NEA Art Works grant.
