A message from Stuart & Suzanne, September 2019:

A hearty, autumnal hello from all of us at SPDT. As the company begins its 2019-20, 40th Season we welcome your support in the coming year.

In Minnesota, with support from the MN State Arts Board, the company will be appearing in Worthington, Northfield, Fergus Falls, Bloomington, and Minneapolis. In addition to performances, SPDT will continue to engage these communities off the stage through its signature Arts & Education and Arts & Health programs. Our mission continues to give voice to the stories of many–elementary students, senior adults, college students, healthcare providers, and individuals impacted by illness—while engaging people where they live.

The National Endowment for the Arts has awarded SPDT its 9th consecutive Art Works Grant to support Raising Our Voices/ Stories of Cancer told through Movement, Music & Voice in Birmingham, Alabama. This multi-week project will involve Birmingham residents impacted by cancer in creating an original performance work to express their stories.

In April 2020, the company will return to The Southern Theater to present a collection of memorable works from SPDT’s acclaimed repertory. House/Home, The Marys, and Total Surrender will be some of the works performed.

SPDT remains indebted to its supporters, without whom we could not do this work.  We are grateful for your contribution of any amount and assure you that it will help to bring arts opportunities to many who would otherwise never have this experience.

Thank you for believing in our work,

Suzanne & Stuart
